Communion Message
Jesus the Healer

Pastor Leighton Sheley

When Jesus walked on the face of this earth one of the characteristics that was recorded most about Him was His activity as a healer. He went around healing the sick and raising the dead. That is in line with who He was as Creator because the Bible says that all things were created by Him, and through Him all things hold together. The Creator created self-healing as part of the model of the design that He gave mankind and other parts of creation. So Jesus going about and healing was part of His character of being the Creator.

The Bible says that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus who created, Jesus who walked this earth and healed, is the same today and desires to heal us.

In just a few moments we're going to have a time where we come forward for prayer.

There was one other thing that Jesus healed us of, and that was the dominion of sin and death. Jesus Christ went to Calvary's cross to pay the wages of our sin because the wages of sin is death.

The Scriptures say, For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of Me." For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.

Let us partake then of the bread and also the cup.

Thank you Lord. We do this in remembrance of You. Thank you for going to Calvary's cross and paying the wages of our sin. Thank you Lord for Your word that says if we confess our sins You are faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Thank you Lord. Thank you Lord. Thank you Lord. © Copyright 2005 Church of the Highlands
