Our Junior High Youth Group - The Oasis - is designed to meet the needs of of young people ages 11-13, grades 6-8. Pastor John Myers is the Director of the Junior High Ministry. The focus of his ministry is to teach students to embrace biblical principles for living. He promotes a fun, safe environment to teach about faith and Bible life in order to create disciples who will understand and choose a Christian world view.

Sunday Mornings

We join with the High School group for praise and worship from 10:00 to 10:30 AM. Then we participate in interactive Bible Study from 10:30 to 11:15 AM. Students are encouraged to join their parents in attending the 11:30 AM church service held in the sanctuary. Pastor Myers feels that both Sunday School and church attendance are vital to their spiritual growth.

Wednesday Nights

Wednesday nights have a different focus each week.

• 1st Wednesday - Community Service
• 2nd Wednesday - Twilight Zone Night - teaching on self-acceptance - inspired by the works of C.S. Lewis and his mentor, George MacDonald. A new topic each week.
• 3rd Wednesday - Sports Night - includes: ice skating, roller skating, bowling, or other activity followed by Bible Study.
• 4th Wednesday - Scripture Night - includes study of the Bible and Scripture memory contest.
• 5th Wednesday (when one occurs) - Field Trip Night (building a bonfire, for example)

There are also annual trips - Centrifuge Summer Camp at Jeness Park, winter snow trips, Christian concerts, and other large scale Christian events to let the students see how many Christians there are in their world.
