2016 Holiday Season Events in Review
Before we get too far into the New Year, we want to take a moment to look back at the amazing Christmas events that took place at Highlands in 2016.
This was our 25th Anniversary of Scrooge performances! All five performances were sold out with 50% to 80% of the audiences attending for the first time! What a perfect way to celebrate our 25th anniversary. SCROOGE shares the message of the gospel in a very entertaining way. The audiences laugh and cry and cheer at the changes that occur in Ebenezer Scrooge’s life. We want to thank our church members for faithfully using this outreach event to invite their unsaved family, neighbors, friends and coworkers. A special thanks to all the volunteers who worked hard to make SCROOGE the best show in town. It takes a 100+ volunteers on stage and behind the scenes to make this show successful. If you are interested in being part of this outreach event in 2017 we would be delighted to have you join the cast and crew this year.
“CHRISTMAS AT HIGHLANDS” concert has been sponsored by our Filipino ministry for 15+ years. It is a unique way to minister to our Filipino community. This year’s concert featured three very well-known artists in the Filipino community; Eddie Mesa, Hanna Bautista and Noel Lopez. Again, the sanctuary was full and overflowing into the mall to standing room only. But best of all, we had 12 people give their hearts to Jesus. This is a Christmas they will never forget! Praise the Lord.
The Sanctuary looked like a beautiful Christmas Village with lighted Christmas trees everywhere as family and friends gathered together in celebration of the birth of Christ. The music of Christmas sung by the choir filled the room with beautiful sounds making the Christmas Eve services warm and wonderful. The 6 pm and 8 pm services continue to be filled to capacity. These services are so well attended that we are thinking about adding a third one this year!
Christmas is a beautiful time of the year and Highlands’ goal is to reach our community with the true message of Christmas. We appreciate your support of these events, bringing your unsaved family and friends along to enjoying the sights and sounds and the life-changing message of Christmas. We are very thankful to the Lord for blessing these events.
