Pathways
to Service Year after year our church has been blessed with many men and women who desire to deepen their understanding of the Scriptures and Godly living by taking advantage of our wide variety of classes. We also recognize the need to purposefully provide more specific paths of training for those who desire to fill a variety of servant roles in our church, whether it be an usher, Sunday School teacher, small group leader, elder or even a pastor. It is our conviction that the primary responsibility for training God's servants resides with the local church. Therefore we are using the PTS (Pathway To Service) concept to encompass these paths of training and mentored ministry experience for those who desire it. We invite you to join us on our spiritual journey of growing in our knowledge and understanding of God and His word. 2007 Fall Schedule
Peter writes: Paul writes to the Romans: Paul's prayer for the Christians at Philippi: Christianity is more than just going to church once or twice a week. When we receive Christ and start our walk of faith, it is imperative that we diligently study the Word of God and grow in the knowledge of Christ! Paul instructs young Timothy: At Church of the Highlands, we provide many opportunities for "GROWING IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR." We trust you will involve yourself in one or more of these learning experiences.
"And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets
some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the
equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the
edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of
the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect
man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and
carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of
men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but,
speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him
who is the head; Christ; from whom the whole body, joined
and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to
the effective working by which every part does its share,
causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should
no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility
of their mind." (Ephesians 4:11-16) |
